Paul Shapcott
SGNZ Coordinator

I've been fortunate enough to be involved as a stunt coordinator, stunt performer & stunt-rigger for some of the most exciting action sequences filmed around the world on productions such as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Last Samurai, The Legend of Zorro, The Da Vinci Code and more recently, The Hobbit Trilogy, Spartacus & Hercules: The Legend Begins.

Having a strong background in the martial arts & outdoor pursuit activities, I started my stunt career 18 years ago in 1992 with local film, TV & advertising. Things really got moving when I started work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as the Head Stunt Rigger & NZ Stunt Coordinator in 1999. I have since gained extensive international experience in the UK, France, Malta, Morocco, Thailand, Mexico, Czech Rep, Poland, Slovenia, Brazil and Hong Kong.

I work with a team of the most experienced national & international stunt performers & use the most modern industry techniques & equipment. My focus is to deliver the absolute best for on-screen action, safety & value for money.
